Track CIF Preview
15 athletes will be competing in CIF this weekend in Carpinteria. The squad is young with only 2 seniors competing among the 15.
Ryan Greene (11) successfully defended her league title in the 100m and 200m. She also anchored the 4x100m team that will also be competing this weekend. Zoe Harvey (10) had a great performance in the 200 and will be competing individually at CIF for the first time as well as on the 4×100 team. Greene and Harvey will be accompanied by their relay teammates Qasia Boone (12) and Kylie Dominoe (9).
There are a number of first time CIF competitors on the boys team. Quinten May (11) was a top finisher in the sprints for the boys. He placed 2nd in the 400 by .02. May will also compete on the 4×4 relay team. Keaton Strawn (11) had a huge personal best in the 200m leading to a CIF birth for him. He will also be competing on the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams. Emiliano Rivas (10) will be representing the team in the 800m after running a gutsy race at league finals. Both relay 4×100 and 4×400 teams will be competing. Strawn will be joined on the 4x100m by Zach McClenddon (10), Josh Woolfork (10) and Awan Parker (11). Strawn and May will be joined by Woolfork and Steve Magana (12) in the 4×400.
We are excited for the next week holds for the team in anticipation of some great finishes and some major personal bests.
