PASADENA, CA — Lauren McFarland is the new Cross-Country and Track & Field coach at Maranatha High School.
McFarland, a 2013 graduate from Cal Lutheran University ran on the school first ever conference championship team in 2012 and earned SCIAC All-Academic honors, as well as the school record in the 4X400.
McFarland stayed on after graduation as the Strength and Conditioning coach at Cal Lutheran for the Track and Field team.
Recently, McFarland was the head Cross-Country coach and Track and Field coach at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, CA. In 2018 the team made the CIF Finals and qualified for the CIF Prelims in each of the four years that McFarland led the program.
In the 4 years that McFarland was the head coach of the Track and Field program, over 10 athletes qualified for CIF and 1 athlete went on to the Masters meet in 2019.
Numerous athletes that have run for McFarland have gone on to compete at the college level.
McFarland says, “I fully believe that God opened this door for me to be a part of Maranatha.”
Athletic Director, Sammy Skinner said “Lauren is going to make an immediate impact on the lives of our student-athletes. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both Cross Country and Track and Field.
