Georgia Wilder, Stella Hsieh, and Amanda Yee swept their singles matches
Without a full squad, starting off every match with an 0-3 deficit forces the Lady Minutemen to play catch-up from the outset; but the team has responded well thus far, and today’s match at the Burbank Tennis Center against the Warriors was no different. Anchored by a clean singles sweep and two doubles wins, Maranatha prevailed, 11-7.
Georgia Wilder (12), Stella Hsieh (10), and Amanda Yee (11) anchored a singles sweep, while Bethany Ang (10)/Audrey Loh (10) secured two doubles wins to help Maranatha prevail, 11-7. Riley McCoy (11)/Sophia Aragon (9), both new to the team this season, did not win a set, but played their best tennis thus far.
The Lady Minutemen complete their truncated season next week with home matches against Geffen Academy, UCLA on Monday, 5/3 and against Heritage Christian on Wednesday, 5/5. Both matches start at 3:30 p.m. at Whittier Narrows Tennis Center.
