Freshman guard, “Pistol P.” Patil Yaacoubian, loaded up in the fourth quarter and ignited a tremendous come from behind upset victory with 21 points and five rebounds while Freshman guard, Emily Jordan scored 10 points and grabbed an impressive seven rebounds. Coach Smalley was elated after the game and stated, “Our team played with a lot of heart down the stretch and showed great composure as they overcame a 10 point deficit with hustle play.” Cherise Masuda had eight points and eight rebounds while Mireille Minassian was sensational off the bench in the fourth quarter with six points, six rebounds and four steals. The Lady Minutemen are on a four game win streak and will face Oceanside High tomorrow at 2:00 PM in the San Diego Holiday Classic Semi-final game. During the four game win streak Pistol P. has averaged 23.7 points per game but explained after the game, “I really don’t care how many points I score, I just want to win.” Coach Smalley expressed how the team was making the most of their bonding fellowship trip in San Diego but admitted how winning helps for an even better time.
