The Lady Minutemen advanced to the quarter finals for the second year in a row with a close 50-47 win over Paloma Valley High. Merci Turner led the Minutemen with 12 points and eight rebounds. The dynamic back court duo of Patil Yaacoubian and Emily Jordan scored six and seven points respectively but played great defense the entire game.
“Erica De Guzman and Mikayla Murphy really played strong defense in the post,” said Coach Smalley. Hope Hayashida came off the bench to uplift the team with her sensational defensive efforts and junior guard, Mireille Minassian sizzled off the bench in the second half hitting three 3’s while grabbing seven rebounds. The Lady Minutemen are now 19-7 on the season and will play Sultana High from Hesperia at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
