With three key players fouling out the Lady Minutemen struggled on the road at Heritage Christian and lost a costly Olympic League contest 57-54. Patil Yaacoubian, Mia Chang and Naomi Turner all fouled out in the fourth quarter but the Lady Minutemen kept fighting and had a chance to win the game up by two with 42 seconds left. Coach Smalley stated, “Our girls had a great trap at mid court and it appeared that their player stumbled and traveled which would have given us the ball back with the lead, however the ref called a foul and the rest was history.” Coach Smalley gave credit to Heritage Christian who played their last game of the season with great spirit and confidence on senior night. Naomi Turner had 23 points and her sister Merci chipped in 14 points to go with eight rebounds, on a night when no other Maranatha player scored in double figures. The Lady Minutemen will complete regular season play with a Thursday evening game at Valley Christian at 5:30. The Lady Minutemen are now 4-3 in league and 16-7 overall.
