Sophomore forward, Mikayla Murphy turned in an outstanding performance Monday afternoon with 14 points and seven rebounds to help lead the Lady Minutemen to victory. It was an out-of-bracket game and Coach Smalley was happy to get the win after a very slow start. “We missed 26 shots from very close range and uncontested in the first half which is a big concern for us. Our defense got us transition buckets in the second half and we were able to cruise from there,” said Coach Smalley.
Sophomore guard, Emily Jordan had 12 points and six assists while Junior wings, Naomi Turner and Patil Yaacoubian chipped in nine and eight respectively, as Naomi grabbed 10 rebounds also. Merci Turner contributed seven points and eight rebounds while defensive sensation Hope Hayashida had three steals and four assists to go with her four points. The Lady Minutemen are in action again Tuesday 12/4 as they start bracket play verses Thousand Oaks High.
